成立於1844年，為TABS及NAIS會員。本校重視對外國學生的課業與生活照顧，聘有專職的英語顧問和輔導員，隨時滿足外國學生的需求。另外，設有一學習資源中心，供學生自我學習、探索、研究之用。學校距Richmond機場193公里，離華盛頓特區241公里。每位學生皆有作畫、雕刻、唱歌、表演和演奏樂器的機會，因為本校提供了學生們在視覺藝術、戲劇和音樂等方面最真實的體驗。如果藝術是學生的熱情所在，學校會給予學生機會，讓他們參與學校提供的密集視覺和表演藝術課程來完成他們在藝術方面的夢想。2008本校排88名

Mild Learning Differences
Campus amenities include a black-box theater, art studios, music studios, practice rooms, a darkroom, and a fully automated 15,000 volume library with campus-wide T-1 broadband Internet access.
The Woodrow Wilson Birthplace and Museum, Shenandoah Shakespeare’s Blackfriars Playhouse, Mary Baldwin College, and a variety of churches, restaurants and coffee shops, and boutiques are a short walk away. The Frontier Culture Museum is nearby, as is the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Within a two-hour drive, Charlottesville and the University of Virginia, Richmond, and Washington, D.C., offer still more historical, cultural, and entertainment opportunities.
